If you’ve been holding out for the slim redesign of Sony’s Vita, or are looking to upgrade, you won’t have to wait much longer. The PlayStation Blog revealed that the Borderlands 2 PS Vita bundle, which includes the slimmer PS Vita in black, an 8GB memory card, and the handheld edition of Borderlands 2, will be available starting May 6th.
The new PS Vita replaces the original model’s OLED screen for an LCD one, shrinks the back touch pad to a less intrusive size, and packs an entire 1GB of onboard storage. As an added bonus, gamers who purchase the bundle will have Borderlands 2 one week before the game goes to retail.
Borderlands 2 on Vita will include six of the game’s DLC packs. According to Iron Galaxy, who is in charge of porting the PlayStation 3 version of the game to Vita, the game runs stably at 30 frames per second, occasionally dipping to 28, IGN reports. It will also have cross-save functionality, allowing owners of both the PS3 and Vita versions to transfer their save between systems.
