6 Games We’re Excited to See More of At Ubisoft’s Digital Conference

Ubisoft is planning an “E3-style” digital event called Ubisoft Forward where they will presumably update us on big, previously announced titles but perhaps also give us a glimpse at the future. The date has been set as July 12 and we couldn’t be more hyped. It is important to note that July 12 is a month after Sony’s show and a myriad of other shows, which implies that games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will likely be kept under wraps until Ubisoft Forward. After the poor reception of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s gameplay unveiling during Microsoft’s third-party showcase, Ubisoft most likely wants their big game to shine properly on their own stage.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Although the initial reveal trailer was an exciting and impressive cinematic to watch, the meek gameplay reveal was anything but. This is Ubisoft’s chance to remind people why we should feel ecstatic for another Assassin’s Creed game. We want to see some Viking boat action, we want to see our main character Eivor explore 9th century England, and we want to see what changes have been made to the combat system. I personally would like to see the game running on either Xbox Series X or PS5.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs Legion had an impressive showing at last year’s Ubisoft press conference. Although I enjoyed Watch Dogs 2, I always felt the series needed a true shake-up and Legion looks to do just that. Who can forget that old lady Helen who was beating the stuffing out of people in that demo? If we can really play as anyone, my playthrough will entirely consist of Helen just wreaking havoc with her walking stick.

Rainbow Six: Quarantine

The Rainbow Six franchise gained a huge boon with Rainbow Six Siege and essentially rescued it after a bumpy start. Rainbow Six: Quarantine has us very excited. The game is a three-player co-op shooter that pits players against an unknown threat. It is also an off-shoot from Rainbow Six Siege but we understand it will share many tactical similarities. Why not shadow drop this game during Ubisoft Forward? Seems like perfect timing to me.

Skull & Bones

Just let us know this game still exists. When the trailer first premiered back in 2017 during the Ubisoft presser, I was immediately on board. Having been a huge fan of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, I wanted nothing more at the time than just naval combat all day long. Skull & Bones has been suspiciously quiet and the last news we received was in 2019 when it was delayed for 2020.

Gods and Monsters

Another title that has been delayed and yet another tantalizing new IP from Ubisoft. From what we saw at Ubisoft’s 2019 E3 show, the game is a gorgeous action-adventure game that looks to focus on exploration and combat. We love the look of the game but we’re going to have to see a little more before we step onto the hype train for this one. Anyone else getting Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild vibes?

Beyond Good and Evil 2

The hotly anticipated sequel to the 2003 space epic, Beyond Good and Evil 2 has no hint of a release date or window and the lack of information is giving me anxiety. Revealed during E3 2017, the game has been pretty much radio silent and the only reason I’m putting it on the list is that, where else could it possibly be shown before the year is through? If Beyond Good and Evil 2 doesn’t make an appearance during Ubisoft Forward then our only hope is Gamescom and perhaps The Game Awards.  Please Ubisoft, make it happen.

I was going to include a new IP on this list but seeing as many Ubisoft titles have either been delayed or remained in lingo, I think it’s safe to say Ubisoft wants to focus on what has already been announced and why we should be excited to play these games on PS5 and Xbox Series X. It has become a tradition for Ubisoft to unveil a new IP at their E3 showings but maybe they have enough to hold us over. We just need dates so we can mark our calendars accordingly. What do you think? Excited to see Skull & Bones again or are you itching to see more Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Sound off below.
