Destiny 2 Officially Announced

Destiny 2

Destiny 2 has come knocking through the main door. What started with a silent tweet has culminated in a brand new, and very amusing, teaser video. Bungie promises that we will get a worldwide reveal trailer on March 30, 10:00 AM PT.

Similar to Rockstar Games when they announced Red Dead Redemption 2, Bungie opted for a silent image on their Twitter account. It worked well for them, with thousands of comments and retweets in a few hours. The unveiling continued with a teaser video called “Last Call”. In it we can see Cayde-6 enjoying a little rest while recounting a not so epic battle battle, presumably, in the new order of things that Destiny 2 is bringing.

The announcement collides with the beginning of Destiny’s last live event, Age of Triumph. This event is the final farewell, and batch of content, that the original game is getting. The event will feature new obstacles to beat plus juicy loot for your Guardians so you better check it out.

In terms of transition between titles, Bungie has already stated that they are planning to preserve our Guardians from one game to the next. All characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward. The only things that are not included in the transfer are powers, equipment, items, currencies, and Eververse items.

Destiny 2’s Rumored Release Date

Bungie already said that Destiny 2 was arriving later this year. However, we may have obtained the official info just ahead of time, courtesy to a photography leak that happened last week.

Destiny 2

The picture was taken at a GameStop store in Italy with a big “September 8th” on top. Apart from this seemingly leaked piece of information, three different characters can be seen. None of them are wearing the typical masks we have come to love so it will be definitely interesting to see what direction is Bungie taking.

Are you looking forward to Destiny 2, Fanatics? Are you going to loot your fair share of goodies in Age of Triumph? Let us know in the comment section!
