Back in February we brought you about reports of a new Batman: Arkham game floating around the internet, and now it’s confirmed.
Batman: Arkham Origins is a prequel in the series, pitting the Dark Knight against 8 deadly assassins, many of which are yet to appear in a Batman game, such as Deathstroke. To our knowledge, Batman: Arkham Origins is not being developed by Rocksteady, but by Warner Bros. Montreal who were responsible for the Batman: Arkham City Wii-U port. To dispel any misgivings we could have, WB signed on Prototype lead designer, Eric Holmes, to be the creative lead on the game.
Another studio is also getting their hands in the mix, Armature Studio, comprised of some of the great minds behind the Metroid Prime franchise, will be in charge of the Vita and 3DS companions of the game: Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. All signs point to the fact that Armature Studio will be looking to make a big splash with Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate especially since this will be the studio’s first real game.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC October 25.
