Just last night the official reveal trailer for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 hit the airwaves. (Check out Charles’ article from last night here) It seems that retailers don’t want to waste any time. They’re showing their pre-order bonuses already.
The pre-order for GameStop is none like I’ve ever seen before. They’ve announced what looks to be a piece of the pre-order action, the rest will be announced in what they’re calling “waves” and there will be four total. The first wave has been revealed already and is an exclusive double sided poster of Black Ops 2. As a bonus, if you’re a PowerUp Rewards member you’ll also receive a prestige token for Modern Warfare 3. The next waves are set to be revealed in July 1st, August, and October. My guess would be that these waves will only be available to those who order soon, so if you’re craving the game and some pre-order bonuses ‘A la wave’ action, head over to GameStop and reserve as soon as possible.
Some more retailers offering pre-order bonuses are Best Buy, Amazon, and UK retailer GAME.
GAME will be offering a Modern Warfare 3 prestige token to anyone who puts in a pre-order within a week. Amazon has got a rather strange pre-order bonus. An exclusive downloadable wallpaper for your desktop when you pre-order (what?) They usually get some pretty good pre-orders so this is a surprise.
Anyone who pre-orders from Best Buy will get a pretty neat Black Ops 2 dog tag (Image is featured below). Take note, when you pre-order from Best Buy online you’ll get your dog tags when the game ships. If you pre-order in store you’ll get the dog tags straight away.
Well now you know. Pre-order at any one of these retailers to get a few extra goodies. Although there’s no telling what the other waves of content from GameStop will be, it looks like it’s probably the best option, aside from Best Buy. (Those dog tags looks so cool!)
Where do you think you guys will be pre-ordering? Drop a comment down below, and don’t forget to check back often for more Call of Duty news. Until next time.
