Should There be an Objection Against Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies M Rating

When you think about a game that revolves around solving cases and protecting the innocent, you don’t think it would get an M rating from the ESRB. Especially when that game is Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies.

Most fans of this courtroom drama had to do a double take after reading the announcement that Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies will be getting a mature rating. Do we expect seeing Phoenix ripping off his shirt as he screams out objection? The same descriptor given to past Phoenix Wright games are the same and all of those games were dubbed with a teen rating. Has the times changed so much that we have to slap a mature rating on a simulated courtroom video game?

Due to the nature of the various crimes and storylines in this latest title in the series, ESRB deemed the title an M.

While you let the rating for Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies sink in, check out this gameplay trailer. We should see a release on the Nintendo 3DS later this year.
