Indie French developer and publisher COWCAT has announced its plan to bring their Xenon Valkyrie+ game to Sony’s PS Vita. The game is a rogue-lite platformer with RPG elements all presented with old-school gameplay, pixel art and classic chiptune tracks.
Don’t surprised if the title sounds familiar. The game was originally developed by Diabolical Mind as Xenon Valkyrie. Xenon Valkyrie+ is a revamped version of the original PC title; this enhanced version includes gameplay improvements, translations and Vita exclusive features and additions.
Xenon Valkyrie+ features unique and randomly-generated world every time players starts up the game. Each character, stores and enemies encountered has a story to tell. As you plow through the masses of enemies, the RPG elements jump into play as players level up in order to obtain the power of the Xenon Valkyrie.
Here’s an official listing of the game’s features kindly provided by Diabolical Mind and COWCAT:
- Rogue-lite platformer with a great story
- RPG elements
- Randomly generated levels
- Quality Chiptune music
- Hard gameplay and Permadeath
- 3 heroes with unique skills
- 100+ items
- Multiple bosses and enemies
- Several endings and secrets
- Translated in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian
Xenon Valkyrie+ will ported and published by COWCAT, a one-man operation by Fabrice Breton, to the PS Vita with a release later this Winter via the PSN store.
