Major Nelson has gone to his blog to let Xbox fans know what to expect from the new Xbox One update coming next month.
The big updates include social features to help share your gaming experiences. If you had trouble doing this before, Nelson states that the update will help make it easier for you to do so.
An activity feed update will have more content in it, allowing for the ability to like and comment on people’s posts, including game clips, achievements and more. With this update, you will be notified when someone does so with your posts as well. There will also be a ‘Friends’ area, which will allow you to compare gamerscores and more.
Mobile purchases will be available for people who are not home and want to begin downloading something right away. Through the use of SmartGlass or Xbox.com, Xbox fans can now begin downloading something while they away from home, so that your purchase is ready as soon as possible. Make sure your Xbox One is set to automatically update so that your purchase will begin downloading.
Something that didn’t carry over from the Xbox 360 was a notification telling you that the battery on your controller was running low. Well now folks, you will now be notified when your battery is running low on your controller on the Xbox One, so no more random times of your controller dying!
Other features included in the update are the ability to disable notifications during videos, 3D Blu-rays are now enabled, OneGuide is now available in more countries, and lastly, the ability to see the amount of time since the last time your friends were online.
