As a new year begins, many people have been focusing on their resolutions. For gamers, that resolution may be playing through their backlog of purchased games. This task may have got a little bit harder this month! Microsoft starts the year off strong with these four games that you can download through the Xbox Live Gold program:
Entire January (w/ Xbox Live Gold): Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition
Killer Instinct has become the premiere fighting game for the Xbox One and now every XBL Gold member will have access to it free of charge! With Ultra Edition, you get the original 8 characters, their special costumes and add-on’s, and the classic original Killer Instinct! With recent announcements of more downloadable content and continued developer support, this the best time to purchase this title. Also, this game has cross-buy, so you can download this now through Xbox Live Gold and not have to pay full price when it comes to PC in March!
January 1st to January 15th: DiRT: Showdown
This Xbox 360 title was just added to the list of backwards-compatible titles that can be played on the Xbox One. If you haven’t already purchased DiRT: Showdown, consider picking up this racing/demolition game courtesy of Microsoft.
January 16th to January 31st: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
While many are patiently awaiting its sequel, the rebooted franchise is first coming to Xbox One as the backwards-compatible original. If you’d like to catch up on the story before Deus Ex: Mankind Divided or you’re in the mood for some cyberpunk, actiony goodness, consider downloading this game in two weeks.
January 16th to February 15th: Zheros
For the final game this month, Xbox Live Gold members receive something that is new to the Xbox One! Zheros is a sci-fi 3D brawler that can be played cooperatively. Battle through waves of extra-terrestrials and automatons as you attempt to reach the nefarious Dr. Vendetta!
