Microsoft is looking to bring easy access to fitness for owners of the Xbox One. Xbox Fitness will be an app available to Xbox Live Gold members this holiday season. Fitness junkies and home fitness system gurus Jillian Michael’s, Tracy Anderson, Tony Horton, and Shaun T. will be just some of the trainers offering content and exercise sessions utilizing Kinect.
Like previous Xbox 360 Kinect fitness games, Xbox Fitness will be offering feedback on performance, personalized workouts, and adding new features like heart rate tracking for example, courtesy of the new Xbox One Kinect. Xbox Fitness will create workouts based on your schedule with workouts that can last ten minutes to an hour, giving players a custom convenient exercise experience. The workouts Fitness will create are programs based on the person’s history and past performance. Competitive fitness folk will be able to connect through Xbox Live and obtain awards and friends-based challenges to add a whole new spin on the interactive fitness app Xbox Fitness.
Xbox Fitness will be free to Xbox Live Gold members until December of 2014, although there will be extra content that can be purchased. After the free year, beginning January 2015 unlimited access to Xbox Fitness will require a subscription for the app and also an Xbox Live Gold membership.
