Wolfenstein 3D Celebrates Its 20th Birthday With A Browser Version Of The Game

In 1992, id Software changed the world of gaming when they released Wolfenstein 3D, the “grandfather of 3D shooters.” While not as famous as the game they put out the following year, DOOM, Wolfenstein 3D set the precedent for what was possible with 3D first person shooters.

In honor of the game’s 20th anniversary, Bethesda has published a browser version of the game, which you can go and play right now.
Seriously, go play.

While the Wolfenstein franchise may have not enjoyed the success of DOOM or Quake, the 2001 reboot, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, as well as the multiplayer free-to-play expansion Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, are one of the best PC multiplayer games ever created.
