Witness Fairy Tale Plot Twists in Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries

The Little Red Riding Hood is probably one of the most famous short stories of our time and probably the very first coming to light of the cross-dressing culture.

However, the game developers at GriN have decided to twist and turn this French fairy-tale into a dark, mystical and combat heavy adventure in their upcoming game titled Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries.

Similar to Rogue Entertainment’s American McGee’s Alice, GriN’s take on this children’s story comes in the form of a third-person, melee-platform driven concept. The vengeful, take no prisoners attitude of Red Riding Hood is brooding and her demeanor adds to the eye-opening visuals in the stages that players will traverse across. Each of them spark medieval tones while keeping bright colors in the aesthetic.

The game was nominated for several awards during it’s swift inception into Steam Greenlight.

GriN is set to premiere a playable version of Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries at Gamescom this August. Anyone who steps up to try out the game will be entered into a contest to see who can contribute the highest score in the game. The winners will receive limited edition prizes pertaining to Woofle.

“Whilst the single level demo is still very much pre-beta it should give Gamescom attendees a taste of what awaits them when Woolfe is released next year,” GriN founder and CEO Wim Wouters said.

With Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC release set around the first quarter of 2015, it will be interesting to see how this story unfolds. Peep the official trailer of the game below.
