CD Projekt Red is trying their hand at something a little different from their critically successful trilogy of RPG’s. The Witcher: Battle Arena is a newly announced title exclusively for Mobile platforms.
Battle Arena is a newly announced MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) title in The Witcher franchise that will pit 3-player teams against each other. Players will be able to choose from 8 different characters from The Witcher universe whilst gaining experience and resources to better their odds for victory.
The Witcher: Battle Arena provides the choice to go head-to-head against other players, offline bots and even play through a campaign. CD Projekt Red promises a fair and balanced experience, noting that anything a person can purchase with real money can also be unlocked through playing the game for a reasonable amount of time.
The title is currently only being released for Mobile devices and CD Projekt Red seems to have a specific game plan as to why.
“I dare you to name three MOBA games on mobile devices. We don’t want to fight with League of Legends or Dota. We are a humble company. It wouldn’t be wise to go against guys who are working on it for such a long time.”
The Witcher: Battle Arena will be free to play and is slated to release “soon” for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Check out the short teaser for the game below.
