Developer CD Projekt RED has just unveiled the opening cinematic for their upcoming RPG title, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It’s almost impossible to explain in words how beautifully mystifying and tragic the events in this cinematic are conveyed.
Named, “The Trail,” the opening cinematic foreshadows the narrative events of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We get a glimpse of protagonist Geralt of Rivia and his mentor, Vesemir, as there are tracking down a beautiful, raven-haired sorceress. This woman holds a special place in Geralt’s heart, for Yennefer of Vengerberg, the all-powerful sorceress, is our protagonist’s long-lost love.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on February 24th, 2015.
