The Witcher 3 Delayed Until May 2015

The Witcher 3 is one of the most eagerly anticipated games of 2015 and it has just been delayed for another 3 months.

My first reaction to this was an urge to grab a pitchfork and make my way to Poland, but as always, I must look at the reasoning behind the delay and why it’s better for everyone.

“The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected. When we release the most important game in our studio’s history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly.” CD Projekt RED

I must also remember the wise words of Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad,” We must be patient. Another twelve weeks might mean the difference between an Assassin’s Creed: Unity style buggy mess and the usual polished release we expect from CD Projekt.

On the bright side this gives anyone that hasn’t played the first two games a bit more time to catch up. I highly recommend doing so as they are both fantastic RPG’s and will prepare you for the third and final game. The Witcher 3 is shaping up to be the most ambitious and impressive game in the series and a delay can only mean it will be better on release.

Unless it’s delayed again, The Witcher 3 will come to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 19 May 2015.
