In a year when there isn’t an abundance of Xbox 360 exclusives to get excited about, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings seems to drawing a lot of attention. According to CD Projekt RED, the Dark Edition of the game is nearly sold out in Europe, with the last few copies remaining in the company’s native Poland. Of course, you can still pre-order yourself a copy of the Standard or Enhanced Edition, but then you’d be missing out on cool stuff like an “exclusive artbook”, “making of DVD” or the badass-sounding “wolf-head Witcher medallion”.
Trinkets aside, the Xbox 360 version seems to be far more than a straight port of the PC original. Assassins of Kings apparently adds around 4 hours of new gameplay, plus 36 minutes worth of fresh animations and cinematics. It’ll also come with a spiffy new CG intro that was created by Bafta winner Tomasz Bagiński. And to ensure PC players don’t feel short changed, all the additional Xbox 360 content will be made available to download for free shortly after launch. Good times for all.
