Wind Waker HD Confirmed for October 4th NA Launch

If you’re chomping at the bit for a chance to play Nintendo‘s remake of a GameCube classic, now you know just how much longer your wait will be. Nintendo announced, rather stealthily, through a press release touting their Zelda Art Competition that The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD will hit stores in North America and Europe on the same day: October 4th. The Nintendo eShop release of the Wii U exclusive is likely the same day, though there have been rumors it’ll drop earlier as a way to encourage folks to buy the digital version.

This news comes on the heels of word that Wind Waker HD will also be part of a special Wii U bundle, also strangely announced rather quietly by Nintendo.

We’ve previewed Wind Waker HD rather extensively here on The Game Fanatics, and can’t wait for Link to take to the open seas once again. For some more reading, take a look at our preview of Hero Mode, or take a look to see what controllers you’ll be using to help save Hyrule.

As always, keep checking back for the latest news on The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and don’t miss our review, which will go up shortly after launch.
