Bad news for Wii U fans in the UK looking forward to this week’s launch of Injustice: Gods Among Us. A WB Games spokesman has confirmed to CVG that the UK release for Injustice: Gods Among Us, set for April 19th, won’t apply to the Wii U version, which has been pushed back to an April 26th release date. No reason for the delay was given.
It’s the latest development in a long line of rocky news for Wii U owners looking forward to this game: earlier, it was revealed that while the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game would have the option of buying special editions of the game, no such version would be made available to Wii U owners. Then, we found out that the Wii U wouldn’t be getting the Season Pass DLC option, to further find out that the Wii U version may not get DLC at all.
It’s frustrating, as a Wii U owner myself, to see yet another major multiplatform release gimped because it’s on a Nintendo system… but that’s a discussion that’s already been had.
We don’t yet know if the delay will apply to the US and European versions of Injustice: Gods Among Us, which launches April 16th in the US and April 19th in Europe. We’ll keep you posted when – and if – we find out more.
