What We Played November 19 – 25

Welcome to Press Start! This is a weekly segment that dives into what we here at The Game Fanatics are currently playing. Feel free to leave a comment with what you’ve been playing or if you have any questions about the games that we are currently involved with.

Jeff: This week I jumped back into Rocksteady‘s Batman games. I’d never played Batman: Arkham Asylum in one sitting, but it was genuinely some of the most fun I’ve had with the game in some time. I’ve been taking more time with Batman: Arkham City, but these are both brilliantly designed games and some of my favorites this generation.

Enis: Continuing my goal to reach SR130 in Halo 4. Such a great game. I enjoy Spartan Ops very much. I finally got my hands on Borderlands 2, which I also love. Going for all the achievements of course!

Darrin: NintendoLand has commanded the majority of my TV this week. It really shows off the potential of the Wii U‘s tablet-like GamePad. Also, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer.

Ben: I finished up all of the Walking Dead episodes this week. Truly a great experience. Then I played a bunch of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. It’s a much deeper fighting game than Smash Bros. but they still share a lot. I’m enjoying the game a good amount but I feel that super moves (the only way to earn kills) are not balanced between characters or super levels quite right. And then, I broke down and bought a Wii U because I had the opportunity and didn’t know when I would get another chance. ZombiU has so far been a very intense survival horror game. You can hardly see, zombies take several hits to kill, and there are strange noises everywhere. It’s a very tense game and I like it. I’m only a few hours into it though so we’ll have to see if anything changes.

Greg: Finished another run of Mass Effect 2. Adept this time. Also played Borderlands 2. Really enjoying the new DLC. Mr. Torgue is amazing.

Jen: I didn’t play as much Halo 4 as I wanted to this week but I did make some more progress in SWTOR. It still doesn’t feel like it went F2P. I also spent some time with TMNT arcade, Bejeweled 3, Rock Band 3 and Rock Band Blitz.
