What We Played November 12 – 18

Welcome to Press Start! This is a weekly segment that dives into what we here at The Game Fanatics are currently playing. Feel free to leave a comment with what you’ve been playing or if you have any questions about the games that we are currently involved with.

Enis: Still can’t get enough of Halo 4. I just want to get all the achievements, continue rocking War Games and finish the upcoming Spartan Ops episodes. Soo gooood!

Darrin: Call of Duty: Black Ops II — it’s amazing what Treyarch has done with the campaign. Split decisions that can impact how your game ends? Awesome! Also, Nintendoland — anyone who is not yet a believer in the tech behind the Wii U should play this. Really shows off what’s possible, should developers actually take advantage of it.

Jen: Star Wars the Old Republic went free to play this week. I haven’t played enough of it this week to really notice a change in the population. My time has been spent with Halo 4. Finally beat the campaign last night, which was intense and awesome. I played multiplayer with two of my nephews and my husband, which was a lot of fun and also with Aaron from The GameEnthus. Would really love to play with more people on my friend’s list and to rank up.

Joel: I have been playing Black Ops II and jumped back onto Star Wars The Old Republic now that is free to play. Now my life will be consumed by both games!

Jake: Got my Wii U. That is all.

Ben: I finished up Prototype and had a pretty good time with it. Blowing stuff up is a lot of fun. I had been waiting for episode 5 of The Walking Dead game to come out before I started playing any of them and it was announced that it is coming out this next week. Or, I guess, this week when people read this. So I was able to get through the first 3 episodes and have enjoyed it a lot. I’m a huge fan of storytelling in games and these do not disappoint. It feels more like a movie than a game and I like that. Especially since you can make choices that change the outcome of things. I’ve never read the comics or watched the show though so I don’t have any idea how it compares to those.

Jeff: Everyone’s got Black Ops II, but I can’t get away from the first game. I love the mysterious single-player, the bots in multiplayer, and the plethora of easter eggs. I’m very excited to jump into Black Ops II, but I haven’t quite been able too just yet.

Chris W.: Have been smashing Black ops 2, Almost prestiged.  The multiplayer feels like any other COD game with different guns and maps which is a downer, that said, the COD games are so awesome that maybe it doesn’t need to change, and the new scorestreaks and loadout systems are nice! It’s not as good as I expected with the huge hype on how it was going to be re-vamped to suit the hardcore COD player rather than the casual player. It’s still worth a purchase though!
