In Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs, Big Brother is your best friend. In this 14-minute demo, Animation Director Colin Graham takes us through a very interesting look at the game’s sandbox. The demo begins in a shady neighborhood of the in-game recreation of Chicago; a living, meticulously detailed version of the famous city. It’s impressive just how ambient and organic the city feels, and it’s a treat to simply watch another player walk down the street– a rare, well-deserved achievement.
No missions take place in the demo. Rather, Graham decides to take on a side quest and gives us a quick glimpse of Watch_Dogs‘ multiplayer potential. We also get a look at the driving, random events, and much more. Check out the video below.
Watch_Dogs shows the power that a single person could have in a time dominated by technology. It’s not often we get a game that pushes genre walls the way this one does, and even rarer that it delivers on the promise. We’ll all see if Ubisoft’s tech-driven opus lives up to the hype November 19, when the game releases for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. The game will also be a launch title on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which release November 19 and November 22, respectively.
