KOEI TECMO America has revealed the latest installment in the long-running Samurai Warriors franchise, Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada.
The game, like others in the series, is set in the Sengoku historical era of Japan. This time around the story will focus on the famed Sanada Clan, with a particular spotlight shown on franchise favorite Yukimura Sanada. Masayuki, Yukimura’s father, will also play a prominent role in the story.
The gameplay of Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada appears to be similar to past Warriors games. This means having you mow down thousands of enemy soldiers with over-the-top combos and special attacks while moving around a large battlefield.

KOEI TECMO did also reveal a pre-order bonus plan for the game. Those who pre-order the game from either Amazon, Best Buy, EB Games, or GameStop will receive five special costumes: the Kunoichi, Ina, Kai, and Chacha Sanada Colors Costumes, also included is the Kunoichi Special Costume.
Information about the plot, gameplay, and characters will be revealed sometime in the coming weeks. Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada will be released on Steam and PlayStation 4 May 23, 2017.
