Watch: New Persona 5 Trailer Shows Off The Velvet Room

Persona 5 Streaming Policy Changes

Atlus released another new trailer for the upcoming Persona 5, focusing on the Velvet Room. It features Velvet Room owner and longtime series staple Igor as well as his two new assistants Justine and Caroline.

The Velvet Room is where players go to fuse and strengthen their Personas. Each iteration of the Velvet Room has been different; Persona 5 uses a prison motif. The trailer shows off just a taste of the different types of fusion the game will offer. It also sheds light onto the fate of Personas that are fused together, showcasing some grisly executions. The trailer also shows off the game’s unique sense of style, which influences everything from the menus to the animation.

Persona 5 continues the series unique blend of life simulation and dungeon crawling role-playing game. Half of the game is spending time as a high school student as you balance school and relationships. The other half will see the player entering Palaces – the game’s name for dungeons – and battling the Shadows that reside within. Along the way, you will interact with a colorful cast of characters and forge relationships with them to help power up your Personas.

Persona 5 is the next entry in the popular JRPG series – which is a spin-off from the Shin Megami Tensei series – and launches on April 4 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. An Atlus PR manager confirmed the game will not be making its way to other platforms. Previous trailers – which are available on the Atlus USA YouTube page – have shown off new characters as well as the combat and dungeon mechanics.
