Announced during Microsoft’s E3 2017 presser, Metro Exodus is the highly anticipated 3rd entry in the Metro franchise. The trailer captured that creepy atmospheric feel that the first two games achieved, based off the best-selling novels by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky depicting a post-nuclear wasteland where the last of humanity survives deep within the metro tunnels of Moscow.
But what was truly impressive were the visuals. Metro is known for pushing hardware on PC, so to see it presumably running on the new Xbox One X console at a fantastic and crisp 4K resolution sent chills down my spine.
The trailer otherwise had the usual staples of a Metro game. Traveling through dark and dingy caverns with a lighter and a weapon, holding on for dear life against mutated monstrosities, and brief sections on the surface.
It looks like another great installment in a great series. I can’t wait to dive into this cold, decrepit world of Metro and see how the human race will survive.
Also did anyone catch that mutated bear? A mutated bear guys! Seriously this game is going to rock.
Metro Exodus is launching on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2018.
