Watch: GreedFall’s Teaser Reveals A Baroque-Styled Fantasy RPG

Spiders announced GreedFall, their upcoming RPG title, with a teaser that’s straight out of a 17th Century fantasy world where magic flows in between a baroque inspired setting. Set to release in 2018, GreedFall is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC systems.

Fantasy clashes with the early stages of the modern age and gives adventurers the opportunity to visit the island of GreedFall, a warm mysterious environment that shines with the colors of the baroque art period. This natural scenery is threatened by settlements of foreign adventurers who followed rumors of treasure, with guns and swords at hand just in case the fantastic beings that roam these lands think otherwise.

With an extensive library of RPGs that includes games like Of Orcs And MenBound By Flame, and The Technomancer, we can expect Spiders to continue with their broad character progression and detailed environments. Throughout their titles they’ve proved to deliver an adapting story-telling with setting-reflecting moods. This solid style prevails since their first steps with the Sherlock Holmes series.

With a constant struggle between two ‘factions’, this story serves as a great revolution where the player could make an impact on GreedFall‘s future. According to their announcement, you’ll be caught in the middle of these tensions and every action could mean change no matter how small it is. But be careful, because the side you pick matters but so does the approach. And sometimes diplomacy hurts more than a fight.

We’ll hear more about GreedFall in the upcoming months, hopefully with more details about this increasing conflict between man and magic. In the meantime, visit Spiders’ official website to know more about the team behind this RPG.
