Developer MIGA has released the first gameplay video showing off sci-fi survival game HEVN.
The video, called “Storm”, shows off a little under 5 minutes of the upcoming game. The player is attempting to locate a cave entrance in the middle of a sandstorm on a distant planet. The video showcases the game’s emphasis on story. Features such as a dialog tree differentiate HEVN from other sci-fi survival games. The footage is clearly noted as “work in progress” so it could all be subject to change.
HEVN stars Sebastian Mar as he embarks on a mining mission light years from home. Along the way, he will work to uncover a “mysterious and conspiracy-laden story while attempting to stay alive in his harsh alien world” said the developer in a press release. “Although assisted by robots and a central AI system, Sebastian will still have to use his ingenuity to survive,” said developer MIGA.
The game is set in the year 2128. Earth has become an overcrowded and overheated mess. Technology divides the populace and corporations such as Nomoni Inc. run controversial mining operations outside our solar system. The developer said the game will fuse simulation and survival mechanics with an immersive and story-driven world. HEVN launches later this year on PC and Mac.
