Warner Bros. Announce new FPS, Gotham City Imposters

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment has posted a press release about a new online-only first-person shooter called Gotham City Imposters. It seems like Batman season is in full swing this year with the release of Arkham City and the filming of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.

Gotham City Impostors blows apart expectations for superhero games with an exaggerated take on first person shooters, set in a part of the DC Universe players have never seen before. Monolith is creating a game that turns Gotham City upside down and we think fans are going to have a blast with this creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism as they play up the classic rivalry between Batman and The Joker.” – said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Gotham City Imposters is looking to be a multiplayer game unlike any other, giving players control of their customized characters as they rebel against the conformity of Gotham City. Posing as amateur vigilantes or villains, players will be able to create their very own “Bats” and “Jokerz” characters using unprecedented customisation options including insane costumes, homebrewed gadgets, and a wide range of traditional and imagined weapons. The game will feature game modes and maps inspired by the vast Batman universe.

Gotham City Imposters will be available soon on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC.
