Walmart Will Begin Taking Xbox One and PS4 Launch Day Pre-Orders

Missed the boat for a launch date console? Well have no fear, Walmart has launch day PS4 and Xbox One consoles in stock for pre-order, and you can pay-as-you-go!

Starting on August 24, Walmart will begin allowing customers pre-order the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, guaranteed to be available at launch.

“We know millions of our customers can’t wait to get their hands on the Xbox One and PS4,” said Laura Phillips, senior vice president of Entertainment for Walmart U.S. “As the current market share leader in video game hardware and accessories, customers can trust Walmart to have the latest gaming consoles and new releases available at a great low price.”

To get your hands on either console all you have to do is stop by your local Walmart store and do the following:

  • Provide a 10 percent down payment – $40 for PS4 and $50 for Xbox One.
  • Make payments over time or in full when the console becomes available.
  • Pick up the console on the launch date. Walmart will hold pre-ordered consoles for customers wanting more time to pay it off until December 13, 2013.

As a refresher, the Xbox One Day One edition is $499 and comes with a Kinect, controller, exclusive achievement, and a “special edition packaging” while the Ps4 launch console costs $399 and comes with  a DualShock 4 controller and wired headset.

You can also pre-order controllers and games as well, and if you’re feeling generous, a limit of 2 pre-orders per console, per person, is in effect, so you can plop down the cash on 2 Xbox Ones and 2 PlayStation 4’s.
