Vikings: Wolves of Midgard Set To Release Next Month

Vikings Wolves of Midgard

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard is a combat-focused action RPG in the vein of Diablo and Path of Exile. The release date is set for March 28th, 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This specific announcement held no mention of the Xbox One and PC release dates but we should expect them around the same time.

Developed by Games Farm, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, puts you in the shoes of a Viking warrior, or shieldmaiden, as you set out to rebuild your village after a devastating attack from the Jotan has left it in ruins. The game features 2-player online co-op, fully customizable heroes, a wide-range of Viking weapons, and an in-depth crafting system.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard in-game 1

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard promises an impressive array of environmental effects – such as freezing cold, poisonous fog, and more. Game Farm is calling this the “exposure system” and hope that it will add an interesting level to the action RPG. Rather than just slashing your way through countless enemies, you will need to find a balance between survival and pushing your limits just a bit further. If implemented properly, this could be an interesting dynamic and change the genre for the better.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard GUI

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard will also feature different modes including a new game plus mode and “The Trial of the Gods,” a horde mode that pits you against wave after wave of mythological monsters and bosses.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard has a pre-order price of $39.99 on PC but hasn’t been officially priced for Xbox One or PlayStation 4. However, Gamestop has the game listed as $59.99 and comes with pre-order bonuses including in-game outfits, hairstyles, and more.
