The British BAFTA Games Awards will soon be upon us on April 6. Launched for the very first time in 2004, they are an annual celebration of “outstanding creative achievement” in the videogames industry. If you want, an official, undeniable statement that videogames have their own place to claim in the world of arts.
As they wrap up preparations for the ceremony, the British Academy has revealed their nominees for this edition. 2016 was quite prolific by gaming standards and this is reflected in the final list. This features typical big names you may expect but there’s also room for indie ones.
Uncharted 4 is dominating all charts with eight nominations and The Last Guardian can say they are closing their mythical development journey with four. The lesser known Inside is also bursting in like crazy, with seven total nominations across categories.
