Ubisoft’s For Honor Drops a Small Update In Hopes To Revitalize Player Base

For Honor

It’s no secret that Ubisoft has been flooded with complaints due to For Honor’s P2P servers. Immediately following the launch of For Honor the game was marred with disconnections and long queue times. Players would be hard-pressed to not disconnect several times within an hour, this caused players to lose faith in Ubisoft. For Honor lost 50% of its player base within the first 2 weeks and continued to climb in the weeks following.

For Honor players are equally upset with the microtransaction system. After doing the math, players found that it would take a total of $732 to unlock everything the game has to offer. Microtransactions are commonplace in today’s industry, but it seems the current system is built as more of a necessity rather than a shortcut. Top this with Ubisoft’s current radio silence on the issues and that leads to players leaving or threatening to boycott the title entirely.

Ubisoft is finally being vocal on the issues and has released a small patch in hopes to “fix” the microtransactions and take back the confidence of its players. The update will add the map “River Fort”, which was previously removed from the title. As for the updates to steel, the update is adjusting the rate at which currency is gathered. The update is detailed by Ubisoft here:

  • All matches Steel income are increased by 25%
  • Daily Orders Steel income are increased by 33%
  • Side Orders Steel income are increased by 50%
  • Community Orders Steel rewards are increased from 500-1000 to 2000 Steel

Ubisoft promises they are looking into the server issues and server stability is their number one concern. Although nothing is confirmed players should expect updates to the servers in the near future.

Is this update a little too late? Let us know in the comments below!
