Ubisoft Releases Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Exploration Gameplay

Prepare for some action filled exploration! Ubisoft has released the latest gameplay video for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and this sneak peek into the naval combat and exploration. If you think Black Flag is just another iteration of the same old Assassin’s Creed you are very wrong. In the latest video Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Game Director Ashraf Ismail walks the viewer through a bit of exploration in the Caribbean and even some naval combat.

Edward Kenway, main protagonist for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, brings his ship to a small island where he finds a random corpse to loot. He receives a treasure map that marks possible treasure on a map located nearby. Edward takes his crew and ship towards the island of Misteriosa where this treasure might be located. On the way there the captain and his crew have to weather a storm which is an in game challenge a player must maneuver or the ship will take damage and lose crew members.

Misteriosa is a Mayan ruin; Ashraf reveals that there are fifty unique locations to explore in the expansive Caribbean world for Black Flag. Edward uses his stealth skills to sneak to the treasure and dig up his treasure chest. He finds a blueprint he can use to upgrade his ship, which players will need to do in order to overcome some of the biggest challenges in the game. It is very noticeable while watching the video is that the world full of life.

Ashraf gives viewers a great look at how players can damage an enemy ship enough to board it and take down its captain. The player can infiltrate ship during the combat and take down the captain, which gives the player the option of releasing the crew, recruiting them, or looting and repairing your own ship. The last part of the gameplay video showcases how a player can take over a fort. Each fort has a fort commander that a player must take down in order to control the fort. After taking over it, the fort now shoots at Edward Kenway’s enemies.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag looks incredible and like a great change for the Assassin’s Creed series. Assassin’s Creed IV Flack Flag will be available October 29, 2013 for PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and coming soon on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
