Ubisoft Confirms Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

The Creed is going to the high seas. Ubisoft has confirmed the many rumors already circulating the industry that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag will be the newest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series. Considering they have already explored some nautical ship battles in Assassin’s Creed III, they are bringing the fun to the next title, using it as the main focus of the game. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will star an all new assassin and the newest destination for the adventure will be the Caribbean.

Looking to build upon the success of Assassin’s Creed III, which was Ubisoft’s most successful Assassin’s Creed installment to date,  Black Flag will include land and sea open-world exploration while mixing it up with land based combat and adventuring through the Caribbean islands, and the Coastlands of Florida.  Speculation began when images of a poster with a new assassin in the middle of combat on a ship, as well as a leaked image of a map with an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag logo in the bottom corner. Ubisoft finally came clean and confirmed the rumors by releasing the cover art mock- ups for the PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. Also, looking at the PS3 cover, it depicts an overlay showing an additional 60 minutes of game play exclusively for the PlayStation 3 edition. No word on whether there will be versions made for the PS4 or next Xbox yet.

Ubisoft will be live-streaming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag‘s official game announcement on March 4th at 9:00 a.m. PST. Make sure you stay tuned with TheGameFanatics.com  for any news and updates about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
