Ubisoft announces new DLC for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Earlier today, Animus Project Update 1.0, a free DLC package for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood arrived on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Ubisoft also announced a new set of DLC, Animus Project Update 2.0, which will release in January.

Animus Project Update 1.0 features a new, Advanced Alliance, multiplayer mode that enhances the original Alliance mode with improved targeting identification and new combat gameplay mechanics. This, in turn, puts a deeper emphasis on stealth as users engage in team-based combat.

To provide further novelty in the update, Ubisoft has added a new map to the multiplayer mode that brings users to a rocky coastal island near Normandy, France. The mountainous terrain led to the creation of a multi-tiered city with narrow, winding streets. As a result, the map is an ideal locale for the stealth-based hunt.

The newly announced Animus Project Update 2.0 will take users to Pienza, which is designed to provide an ideal environment for free running. Subsequently, Ubisoft has created a matching game mode which essentially serves as an advanced capture the flag in which teams fight to protect and capture treasure chests.

Both of the Animus Project Updates are free DLC. Project Update 1.0 is now available, and 2.0 will arrive on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network in January.
