Trion Announces First Defiance DLC and More!

With the launch of this new MMO just a few weeks ago, Defiance’s Executive Producer, Nathan Richardsson says that things are about to get interesting with the five DLCs that are set to release later this year. You can check out the full article he posted earlier this week here. Richardsson has responded to some of the comments stating that they’d like to always get better and personally, get to the “two-bag of chip category”.

Trion does their DLCs a bit differently: They have a free component, a paid component and a store update. The free part is for everyone. The paid, of course is just $10 dollars or free if you’ve purchased the Season Pass.

The first DLC which has been dubbed, “Enter the Castithan” is set to launch soon. If you’ve purchased the Season Pass, or plan on spending the extra $10 bucks you’ll get:

  • Access to play the Castithan Species
  • Access to a new Story Mission Line and new Battle Arena Game Mode
  • Access to new Castithan Battle Arenas
  • Castithan Charge Blade & Cermonial Mask as a reward from the Story Mission Line
  • A unique version of the Rapter, a new 4 player truck
  • A unique Castithan version of an outfit
  • A Charge Weapons Starter Pac
  • Access to New Pursuits
  • New Xbox and PS3 Trophies and Achievements

For the free:

  • Access to the new Charge Weapons Class and Castithan Blaades
  • Access to Seiges, a new Open World Game Mode
  • Access to the new Monolith Major Arkfall (wuuuuuuut??!)
  • Access to a new PvP Map – Military Academy
  • Battle Arenas Game Mode
  • Duels Game Mode
  • New enemies, lockboxes and events that can drop Charge Weapons
  • New voice for your character
  • Numerous game improvements from UI to content

Store Content will include new mods that can tint the color of your Castithan Blade, lockboxes that have a chance at getting Charge Weapons, more versions of the Raptor and Character Customization changes! (YESSS!)! At launch I was in such a rush to play that I didn’t realize the amount of customization there was for your character. I know there’s been a lot of people already within the community that have done this and gladly, Trion is responding.

There’s a lot of great things that are coming to the table for Defiance players. Since playing from launch myself, I’ve already seen the good, the bad and the ugly but there’s something unique about this game that just keeps making me come back for more.  This first DLC gives us a good idea of what is coming up for future content. I’m very excited to see what’s to come with these DLCs. Stay tuned for more information from yours truly when it comes to traveling the lands of Defiance.
