Tribes: Ascend Game of the Year Edition Available on 2/15

A Game of the Year Edition of the “World’s Fastest Shooter”, Tribes: Ascend, is coming to PCs this Friday, February 15.

Available as a single-purchase digital download, the release commemorates the acclaimed multiplayer shooter’s reception of five editor’s choice awards and its Game of the Year recognition since being released by Hi-Res Studio last April.

There will be no change to the currently free-to-play version of the game, although according to Hi-Res Studio’s COO, Todd Harris, an additional single-purchase option is now available to unlock every weapon in the game.

With Tribes: Ascend Game of the Year Edition, players acquire the ultimate package with a single purchase, including over 100 weapons, all 9 classes and all 21 perks. The Shocklance will be available for use by all classes, and is just one weapon among a series of DLC perks (derived from the last ten expansions of the game) that the GotY version has to offer. Additionally, there are three new CTF maps: Bella Omega, Blueshift, and Canyon Crusade Revival. Three new Arena maps available are Fraytown, Undercroft, and Whiteout. All of this also comes with two new cosmetic skins, Juggernaut’s Forlorn and Doombringer’s Executioner. Check out screens of all these environments, and the two skins, in the Gallery below.

Tribes: Ascend Game of the Year Edition will have a purchase price of $29.99. If you’re a player that’s currently a Tribes: Ascend VIP member, a discounted price of $19.99 gets you the same package. Guarantee a great start to your weekend and head over to Steam or TribesAscend.com on Friday to get your hands on this comprehensive content.
