In this story, Lara must unravel the history of a forgotten island in order to escape, armed with only her raw instincts and her amazing endurance.

For the first time ever, Tomb Raider features a multiplayer campaign, along with a plethora of companion items and interactive media such as, a strategy guide and companion art book titles The Art of Survival, TOMB RAIDER: The Beginning—a Dark Horse Comic, an official sound track, an official Tomb Raider Online store, and an App available on iTunes and the Amazon Appstore called The Final Hours of Tomb Raider.A quote

from Darrell Gallagher, head of Crystal Dynamics, on the development of Tomb Raider:

“Creating something truly special is incredibly challenging. You have got to really want it: you have to be passionate; you have to care about it, and you have to dedicate yourself, we have a studio full of talented people who have put their hearts into making this game – this is not just a game on their resume, speak to any one of them, they’ve been on a journey. We hope that the game we’ve built will endure and that this is a well deserving renaissance for Lara Croft.”
