Titanfall 2 Could Drop on Non-Microsoft Platforms

Reports are circulating that Titanfall 2 is official (no surprise), to be published by EA (also no surprise) and will not be exclusive to Microsoft platforms (huh?).

A report by Polygon says that Electronic Arts will publish Titanfall 2, which is no surprise since they published the already massively successful first game, but also states that, much like what EA did with the Mass Effect series, gamers who prefer a PS4 to a PC or Xbox One will be able to join in on the fun. Neither EA nor Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall‘s developer) are commenting on the rumor at this time, but it does match up with a tweet sent by Respawn’s Vince Zampella last year that expressed interest in developing for Sony’s machine.

As stated before, such a move would not be surprising: EA bought BioWare in 2007, and then shortly announced that the Mass Effect series – which had been exclusive to Microsoft platforms – would be coming to the PS3 starting with an enhanced edition of Mass Effect 2.

What do you think? Are you excited about this news? Do you think that losing exclusivity (if it even happens) would hurt the Xbox brand? If Titanfall 2 hits the PS4, would you buy it?
