In the world of post-apocalyptic shooters, one game rises above the rest: Metro 2033, which pits players in a battle for their very survival amidst the remains of nuclear-war ravaged Moscow. Metro 2033 is based on its namesake book by Dmitry Glukhovsky, which by the way looks to be a good read, and it takes you through the desolate world in the shoes of main character Artyom. The game was visually stunning, from the moment you loaded up to the menu to the heat of battle players were engrossed in a vivid world that boasted top-notch realism. Despite a few glitches here and there and some combat frustrations, Metro 2033 was a game that was a breath of fresh air in the entire first -person shooter genre, and a previously unknown 4A Games was behind was an even bigger marvel.
Now we’re hearing word that THQ is indeed working on Metro 2034. Danny Bilson, VP of core games at THQ, mentioned on twitter that they “will be talking a lot more about the next Metro this summer,” and though when we asked him he let us know that he wasn’t at liberty to say anything official, but we should “stand by.” That we will Mr. Bilson, that we will.
