With word that Sony is in its final stages of testing the PSN network and preparing to restore it back online sometime this weekend or next week, all could be scrapped.
CNET got a hold of information from an insider that observes various hacking chat channels, came across some grime news. The group responsible for accumulating thousands of PSN user’s personal information is claiming they will “publicize all or some of the information they are able to copy from Sony’s servers, which could include customer names, credit card numbers, and addresses.” according to the source.
Additionally they are also saying they “still have access to some of Sony’s servers.”
With major law enforcement in the US now handling the case, this could become more serious as Sony’s still has to answer to the US Congress on the matter.
