Thief Gets a Release Date

The Square Enix reboot of the classic Thief franchise has received a release date.

On February 25, 2014, Thief will be available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, and PS3. The last time Thief’s antihero Garrett has been seen, or not seen, skulking in the shadows was in the year 2000. Now Eidos Montreal is giving the original stealth-based game a much needed facelift with its reboot, and it looks fantastic.

Keep in mind though that this game is not for the impatient, or foolhardy. Thief is a game that requires patience, skill, and a bit of luck to master, as Garrett is not the kind of action hero to go in guns blazing. No, Thief’s hero would rather stick to the shadows while outmaneuvering guards, and using his gadgets to get in and out without there ever being a trace of his presence.

Thief is full of some amazing gameplay mechanics, and gadgets,  that allows Garrett to traverse a city full of sickness and corruption. This may be a reboot but it is looking to advance the story of not only Garrett, but the city he calls home as well.

While this is looking to be a game similar in difficulty to Demon Souls, the amount of love, time and detail that Eidos Montreal is putting into this game makes it an experience that is not to be missed.
