As a user of the wireless Recon headsets, it is really cool how they are able to apply those features to any headset connected to the controller. The Recon 500 headset has great sound as expected. Even without using the enhancements that the controller provides, the headset produces great sound. The build quality is really good and works well with those who wear glasses. I really enjoy the mesh earcup for longer play sessions. The controller build is very solid but light as well. Compared to the Xbox Elite controller, this is a ton lighter. Some of the materials may be a little bit lower in quality but the controller is a third of the cost. The controller is wired so that does help with some of the weight. Wired controllers also tend to have lower response times which helps with competitive play. The controller is a great alternative to the Elite and Scuff controllers on the market.
