The Shadowlands are Finally Open

World of Warcraft’s newest expansion has finally arrived! COVID caused the launch date to be pushed back a few months; working from home led to the developers needing more time to finish the expansion. It was unfortunate that we had to wait so long, but that hellish time is over. The game should be better because of the extra developing time as well.

As of November 23, 3:00 pm central time, avid World of Warcraft players all across the world can journey to the afterlife, meet new allies, see familiar faces, and defeat the Banshee Queen. Well, some of them can anyway.

Players are reporting a fair number of bugs that are preventing login and character selection. Blizzard is aware of the problem and they are working on it, but there is not currently an estimated fix time. If you’re locked out and can’t bear the anticipation, you can try listening to Blizzard’s Shadowlands Lo-Fi Remixes to calm yourself down:
