Many thought that they would never play as Shepard in a new Mass Effect game again, we were even told this by EA and Bioware. Well, they were wrong, sort of.
Introducing the Mass Effect Risk game, dubbed Galaxy at War, brought to you by Bioware and Hasbro. Not much can be said about the game yet as a prototype of the game’s box was displayed on their Facebook page and that the Mass Effect Risk game will be available in the fall, just in time for holiday gift giving. The box art suggests that it will surround Shepard, or at least Shepard’s last adventure from Mass Effect 3. The game itself is targeted for those of the age of 10+ and might roughly cost around thirty dollars. Hasbro has dipped their fingers into other video game Risk games such as Halo and Starcraft.
Risk has been around since 1957, staring out as La Conquête du Monde, which was conceived by a French film director by the name of Albert Lamorisse. It is a turn based game, heavily focusing on strategy. Two to six players are able to play as they capture territories from the other players. Perhaps with Galaxy at War, players will have to take back the galaxy from the Reapers, resulting in three different endings.
