The Amazon App store for Android is here.

Google’s Android Marketplace doesn’t exactly hold a candle to the iTune’s App Store, however there’s a new app store for all Android fans from Amazon. The Amazon App Store features the sleek easy to use interface that website users might enjoy. To download the app store simply click this link on your android phone. Touch download and enter your email where it tells you, finally check your email and touch the link for the .apk, then accept to install it and you are on your way! The Amazon App store features free applications everyday, high quality ones too! So far personally I have downloaded Doodle Jump, Diner Dash 2, Angry Birds Seasons (Ad free), and Angry Birds Rio all for free.

Although having significantly less applications than the iTunes App Store it’s certainly more competitive than Google’s offering. Apple is even suing Amazon over the name “App Store”  according to Reuters.com Well it seems companies who associate themselves with the droid platform just can’t Catch a legal break, with Motorolla’s issues with George Lucas over the name “Droid” and now this.

The only question now is how will Google and hardware Manufacturers  respond to Amazon’s new offering? Google has already refused to allow the app on their own marketplace thus making it hard to find. However on some Samsung phones the standard google searching app is already replaced with Microsoft’s Bing application from purchase. Will manufacturers replace the standard Google app store with Amazon’s? What will this mean for smaller developers? Only time will tell. However I highly suggest you check out the Amazon App Store and download some high quality free applications for your phone.
