TGS 2014 | Bladestorm: Nightmare Heads West in 2015

Think back to 2007. Remember that awesome real-time strategy game, Bladestorm: The Hundred Year’s War? Well, fans of the historical strategy title will be pleased to know that Koei Tecmo is planning to release Bladestorm: Nightmare on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One within the early months of 2015.

Revealed during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, publisher Koei Tecmo stated, “Bladestorm: Nightmare (working title) follows Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War, which was released in 2007 on PS3 and X360.” The game emphasizes a deeply intricate system of strategic combat while players are left to explore the historical events that unfold in the Middle-Ages of Europe. During this historic narrative, players will be placed in the shoes of a ruthless mercenary and will be given the option to fight for either England or for France in the many battles that take place during the war.

As the working title suggests, the “nightmare” aspect of the game will see players facing off against the likes of fantasy threats such as goblins, cyclopses, dragons, and other formidable creatures.

Much like its predecessor, Bladestorm: Nightmare in under the reins of developer Omega Force, the studio involved with the Dynasty Warrior series and more recently, Hyrule Warriors on the Wii-U. In case you weren’t aware, Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War was well received by critics and fans upon release due to the mix of real-time action and strategy combat in addition to the game’s intelligent AI and other RPG elements.

You can also check out a Japanese teaser trailer for the game below if you desire.

Bladestorm: Nightmare is due to arrive in Q1 of 2015 on PlayStation 3PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in both Europe and North America. Be sure to check back towards the end of the year for more information on the game!
