TGF Press Start Week Ending November 20

This is a weekly segment where we share what games we are currently playing for our readers to get to know us a bit better. Said games can range from retro to current and from casual to FPS games. If we’re playing it, we’ll share it. Please feel free to comment with what your playing or your opinions on the games that we’re involved with.

Charles: Saint’s Row: The Third. I’ve been playing the hell out of that. The game is freaking awesome, and the amount of ingeniousity that went into it clearly shows. Bulletstorm USED to be the most fun game I’ve played this year but SR3 definitely takes the cake now. I’ve also been playing Need for Speed: The Run and LA Noire: The Complete Collection. Been beefing up my Steam library as of late; showing my PC some lovin’.

John: On PC, it’s been Skyrim and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. On PS3, it’s been Assassin’s Creed Revelations and the Rayman Origins demo over and over and over…

Chris C.: Saving the Princess and slamming my head on bricks while wearing my PETA approved Tanooki Suit playing Super Mario 3DS

Jen: As soon as I got Assassin’s Creed Revelations on Tuesday, I’ve been playing that, eventually beating it on Sunday. Now it’s time to play Halo Anniversary Edition! I did pick up Saint’s Row 3, Sonic Generations, Sonic Spinball (Sega Genesis), Zelda I & II (NES), all of which I have not played yet. SR3 and Sonic Gen I picked up because of a sale, Sonic Spinball was picked up because I loved that game when I was younger. As for the two Zeldas, I’ve decided to give Legend of Zelda another chance and might as well play them on their original system. Plus as a collector, I couldn’t pass up getting them with their cases and instructions. I did find the time to squeeze in some game time on Bejeweled 3 for both XBLA and DS. Hopefully I can beat Halo before the end of the week so I can get started on Sonic Generations and then SR3. Need to get these games beat before December 20th. Such a huge gaming season!

William: Playing Skyrim. Finished with the main quest. Like it mostly, but it has a few silly flaws that really shouldn’t exist in this day and age. They cut off the edge of the map with roads blocked by invisible walls? Really? Also, the pathing can be hysterical and frustrating. Resulting in companions that refuse to fight (and just hang out in the next room), or quest dialog and events that happen all out of order. Zelda has been started, but just barely in to that at the moment.

Tom: I’ve been playing Skyrim. There are a few bugs here and there, but they are massively overshadowed by how generally amazing the game is. Apart from Skyrim, I’ve played a bit of BF3. Still loving that too.

Jake: Just started Zelda. Not sure how I feel about it.

Ben: Skyrim that is all.

Katerina: I’ve been playing a lot of UNCHARTED 3 multiplayer, co-op included. There’s so many items to unlock and boosters to level up… there’s definitely a lot more to accomplish, whereas in Uncharted 2 you maxed out everything very quickly. The multiplayer is also extremely addicting, I can’t seem to put it down!
