Tetris Free Today! — Only For Android

Sorry iPhone peeps. Electronic Arts, Inc. and Blue Planet Software, Inc. have  been gracious today by giving Android users Tetris for free today in the Android Marketplace. The free version of Tetris joins the recently launched Scrabble as the second free smartphone game released by EA.

Tetris is one of the most distinctive, well-known and popular video game franchises in the world and it gives EA the opportunity to grow its already-expanding customer base on the Android platform,” said Bernard Kim, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for EA Interactive. “Tetris has a strong legacy in the mobile gaming world and we’re excited to bring a free version of Tetris to yet another great platform.”

Tetris has been an all-time favorite title since the game was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in the USSR in June of 1984. It has been named “first and second” place by different gaming communities as The Greatest Video Game of All Time.”

Features of the free version of Tetris released today for Android users has a new improved visuals and challenges for new Tetris fans to veterans. Touchscreen controls can slide, rotate, and drop their “Tetriminos” in place to clear lines a get points. Your stats will also be tracked so those competitive gamers can keep trying to improve their high scores!
