Telltale Games Developing a Game of Thrones Game!

Through multiple sources, IGN has reported that Telltale Games is currently working on bringing Westeros to the gaming world, exciting many fans of the books, show and developer. Telltale is best known for their episodic take on The Walking Dead, which took home many Game of the Year awards, and currently are in their first season with Fables’ The Wolf Among Us.

It’s still unclear if by “Game of Thrones” they mean the first book of G.R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, or the television series, will be used as source material. Personally, my money is bet on the book series considering Telltale‘s past.

After being asked for a comment, Steve Allison, SVP of Publishing stated, “Officially we have no comment”.

Interestingly, the universe G.R.R. Martin created is written from the point of view of different characters each chapter, much like the recent 400 Days DLC released for The Walking Dead. Also, recently Telltale co-founder Dan Connors teased a big future for the company, “We will be working on a few licenses that definitely fall into our dream IP scenario and we can’t wait to announce those.”

Would you like to see Telltale Games interpret the book series? Or would you rather it take part in the Game of Thrones television series? Perhaps, you may think they might spinoff like they did with The Walking Dead: The Game. Let us know in the comments below!
