Tales of Graces f Makes its PS3 Debut in North America

Tales of Graces f is the first entry in the long running Tales of series on the PS3(outside of Japan) and it is out right now. It brings with it an enhanced version of the well-known live action battle system that plays more like a fighting game rather than a traditional jrpg.

The original Tales of Graces was only available in Japan and on the Wii but PS3 owners are now getting a shot at the game with a plethora of new content.

If this game does well, we will hopefully see the recently released in Japan– and excellently reviewed– Tales of Xillia come out here as well.

Now that I’ve bored you with unnecessary details, here’s a trailer of the game to see if you are interested in some jrpg goodness.

TALES OF GRACES™ f IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE PLAYSTATION®3 SYSTEM INNORTH AMERICA

The Bonds of Friendship Are Eternal

SAN JOSE, Calif., (March 13, 2012) – Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today released Tales of Graces™ f for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system in North America.  Tales of Graces f combines lush animated graphics, a dramatic storyline, and an exciting real-time battle system into a sprawling epic for fans of the Tales of series and Japanese RPGs.

Tales of Graces f brings the renowned and beloved Tales of series to the PlayStation 3 system for the first time in North America. Set amidst the conflict of three kingdoms competing for planetary dominance, the story follows Asbel Lhant and his friends as they come to discover just how far they will go to protect the bonds of friendship between them in a quest that stretches beyond their comprehension.

“The Tales of series’ strong characters, captivating stories and signature real-time battle system have earnedit some of NAMCO BANDAI Games’ most diehard fans,” said Carlson Choi, vice president of marketing for NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.  “Tales of Graces f continues with that tradition and we are excited for those fans to help us foster and grow the community for the Western market.”

For the first time in the Tales of series, the combat system lets the player freely change attack style depending on the battle situation. The characters can fight with two different attacking styles, and the new combat system is easier to control while simultaneously adding new levels of tactical depth. The title is developed by NAMCOBANDAI Games Inc. in Japan with the aim of bringing to life the rich depth of the evocative characters designedby Mutsumi Inomata.

Post-launch DLC for Tales of Graces f will include special character costumes and accessories.  Outfit your party with fashionably cool clothes based on past Tales of games and various themes.  Certain costumes will give characters stat boosts and access to classic Tales of battle music when they are equipped, giving players that extra edge in battle.

Tales of Graces f is scheduled for European release in summer 2012, with an exclusive day one edition of the game set to include bonuses for European fans only. More details regarding the European release will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Tales of Graces f is rated “T” for teen by the ESRB and carries a MSRP of $59.99.  For more information on the Tales of Graces f and the Tales of series, please visit: http://www.namcobandaigames.com
